Title Page: Present, intact, no markings Text: Full text block, no recorded markings. Gilded text block edge. Inscription: First end paper: Brigham Young signature. Second end paper: “To His Excellency Hon. Chas. De Long, with the compliments of Geo. Q Cannon Salt Lake City, Feb 20th ’72”. Notes: Charles De Long was in California politics during the California gold rush. He became minister of the US to the Emperor of Japan and negotiated various treaties between Japan and Hawaii. |
